Strong sales growth in anniversary year - L.B. Bohle grows continuously
Just in time for the 40th year of its anniversary, L.B. Bohle adds a particularly successful chapter to its four-decade-long success story. The fiscal year 2021 could be closed with the best sales result in the company’s history. “Years of investment in the development of continuous manufacturing systems and currently in global service are bearing results,” said Tim Remmert, Executive Director Sales. Thanks to a strong order entry for 2022, the company firmly expects the trend to continue.
Trade show cancellations worldwide, massive contact restrictions and wide-ranging lockdowns in almost all economic regions – the year 2021 started under bad circumstances with the third wave of corona. “L.B. Bohle has invested in new development projects, in a new plant and in global service despite these difficult conditions,” reports Executive Director Tim Remmert. “This courage has paid off, as we were able to implement major projects in the U.S., in Germany, but also again in South America.”
Batch equipment remains bestseller
The company is also among one of the most popular suppliers in the business with equipment for classic batch production. “Our machines for tablet production continue to be in high demand in a wide range of sizes,” explains Thorsten Wesselmann, Executive Director Technology.
Growth rates evoke early years
The anniversary year 2021 almost reminds Lorenz Bohle of the early days: “We also posted annual growth rates of 20 to 50 percent then – but of course we came from a lower level,” says the company founder. He has built up the Ennigerloh-based company since 1981 as a special machine builder for pharmaceutical production and established it as a global technology leader.
“The planned anniversary event unfortunately had to be canceled due to Corona and all the restrictions in the fall of 2021,” Bohle regrets. “However, we will make up for the anniversary gala on May 20, 2022, in the Olympic Hall in Ennigerloh.”
Directly before – on May 18 and 19, 2022 – L.B. Bohle will welcome experts at the “Innovation Days” and provide information on the status and future of continuous manufacturing in the pharmaceutical industry.
The international workshop will take place, among others, in the new Plant 4, for which the foundation was laid only in March 2021. On the 12,000 m2 site, a production complex of approximately 2,000 m2 is being built to the latest standard.
Global service increasingly in demand
In the last year the after-sales business has been intensified and the team has been strengthened in terms of personnel. “Due to the continuously strong growth in the number of plants on the market, the demand for spare parts and especially machine retrofits and upgrades is also increasing. We meet this demand quickly, flexibly and competently with our enlarged team,” states Tim Remmert.
Company growth also means more employees
The topic of personnel is at the top of the agenda at L.B. Bohle. “Currently, we employ about 270 workers at our sites in Ennigerloh and Sassenberg and are happy about the low fluctuation. To realize the continuous increase in sales, to meet the strong demand and to maintain our top position in the market, we continue to hire skilled workers,” reports Thorsten Wesselmann. Especially in the areas of software development, customer service and service, we are constantly looking for reinforcements.
